barham court - venue for "splendid events"
On Saturday September 27th, Barham Court, Teston, near Maidstone, was the venue for two "Splendid Events": The British Vintage Sports Club enjoyed its Annual Rally and hospitality at Barham Court, and only a few hundred yards away, the Teston Cricket Club enjoyed its Annual President's Match between the President's X1 and the Teston Cricket Club. Visitors to Barham Court that day were able to wander between the cricket and the Vintage Car Rally. On one of the sunniest days of the year, some of Britain's finest vintage cars were driven around and displayed in the magnificent Barham Court grounds, the drivers enjoying the rare pleasure of driving with their hoods down in the lovely weather |  |
The cars included what is claimed to be the longest Rolls Royce ever made and also rare "Invicta" model (very appropriate for Kent). The cricket was also a great success with some fine examples of play. The day was enjoyed by all. |  |
